About Mini Moon Guide

A guide to short honeymoons, built on checked facts rather than lists of pretty pictures.

Updated 5 November 2026

Mini Moon Guide is for couples planning a minimoon: a short honeymoon of a few nights, usually taken soon after the wedding. Most minimoon articles are lists of hotels with a line or two each. We wanted something more useful: which room to book, whether the hot tub is really yours, whether the spa is adults only, and whether the dog can come.

So far we have checked 155 hotels across Napa and Sonoma, Big Sur and Carmel, Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley, Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, the Mendocino coast, Sedona, the Colorado Rockies, the Hudson Valley and Catskills, Vermont, Cape Cod and the islands, the Maine coast, the Smoky Mountains and Asheville, Charleston and Savannah, the Poconos, Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, the Oregon coast and wine country, the Texas Hill Country, Santa Fe and Taos, the Florida Keys, Door County and northern Michigan, Montana and Jackson Hole, Virginia wine country, the Finger Lakes, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Muskoka and Prince Edward County, the Eastern Townships and Charlevoix, Whistler, Vancouver Island, the Canadian Rockies, the Okanagan, and we are adding more regions. You can read how we check each one.

Where the facts come from

Every fact on a listing comes from the hotel's own website. Each listing links to the pages we read and shows the date we checked them. Where a hotel's website does not say something, we say it is not confirmed rather than guess.

Mini Moon Guide is responsible for everything we publish. If something is wrong, our corrections policy explains how to tell us and what we do about it.
