How we check every hotel

A hotel goes on the site only when its own website backs up what we say about it.

Updated 5 November 2026

What we check

For every hotel we read its own website and answer the questions couples planning a minimoon ask most:

If the hotel's website does not answer a question, we say "not confirmed" rather than guess. Every listing shows the pages we read and the date we read them. The most recent check was on 6 November 2026.

What we leave out

We do not copy star ratings or review scores from booking sites, and we do not show prices, because both change daily. Use the booking button or the hotel's own site for today's price.

Drive times

Drive times are approximate. We place each hotel on the map using OpenStreetMap data (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License), then calculate the driving time from the center of each city with the open-source OSRM routing engine. The times assume no traffic and no stops, so allow extra, especially on a Friday or a holiday weekend. City hubs list hotels within about 4 hours. Map data corrections can be reported through OpenStreetMap's fix the map page.

Keeping it current

We plan to re-check every listing at least every six months, and sooner when a hotel tells us something has changed. If you spot something out of date, email [email protected].

Photos

Our photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses or public-domain terms. Each photo shows its credit and license. A caption identifies the area or subject shown; unless it names the hotel, the photo shows the surrounding area rather than the hotel itself. See our photo credits and source pages.

How the site is paid for

Some links to booking sites may earn us a small commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. Hotels cannot pay to be listed, and commissions never change which hotels we include, what we say about them or the order they appear in.
